Around Ribblehead Viaduct - Well Nearly

It was my intension today to try to walk "The 3 Peaks" in Yorkshire dales for the "Nicholas Appeal" - see flash banner above. This is basically a 23 mile walk climbing 3 peaks around Ribblehead and the viaduct, and at the same time , when possible to photograph the various movements along the S & C from the various fell sides. Alas the weather was against us. Snow on the ground and heavy going meant we abandoned the walk after Pen y gent due to being too far behind schedule. The weather conditions beat us today.
No steam working today, but there where WCML diversions with pulls by the Virgin Thunderbirds dragging pandolinos and also Voyagers to be seen, besides the local traffic and freight workings.

The class 66 moves slowly on along the line. Futher up the fell side, low cloud prevented further pictures of the line.
